FSTA Frontline Vol. 1, Issue 1

New Newsletter Debuts

Welcome to the first edition of FSTA Frontline. Our goal in this monthly newsletter is to capture some of the buzz around the fantasy sports industry in a concise, easy-to-read manner. In order for the newsletter to be successful, however, we will be relying on you to alert us as to what's going on with your company. The e-mail box news@fsta.org has been established for FSTA members to send us company news and notes, executive comings and goings and other information that you deem worthy of sharing with your colleagues. The deadline for submissions will be the 25th of each month. Sponsorships, like the one you see to the right are available. Contact FSTA Association Director Megan Van Patten at megan@fsta.org for details.

Chicago Conference Recap

Over 175 people representing nearly 100 companies attended the FSTA Business Conference and Research Symposium in Chicago on July 8-9. A download of each presentation from the conference is available for FSTA members. Log in at http://www.fsta.org.

CBS Crosses Name Barrier

The NCAA will not fight CBSSports.com's plan to use names of college football players in its online fantasy game this fall. Previously, the NCAA banned the use of athletes' names on such sites and games have used inexact terms such as "Ohio State RB." (Read more at USA TODAY).

In Case You Missed It

Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football '08 will introduce mobile access via Yahoo! Mobile, part of an overhaul that also includes the naming of Cleveland Browns WR Braylon Edwards as the service's "cover athlete." (MarketWatch).
