FSTA Code of Ethics

The FSTA will accept applications from prospective new members and the Membership Committee will review the qualifications to make sure the applicant adheres to the FSTA Code Of Ethics. After a sufficient period (no less than 90 days), the applicant will be allowed to display the FSTA Member graphics on their site.

  • Honesty

All members of the FSTA are expected to deal honestly. This will mean different things to different companies, but a simple business trait everyone should follow. It's broad, and it's narrow. It means everything that you say in your advertisements you should do or have done in past years, and be able to prove. The use of comparison advertisements, where all aspects are not being compared, should be discouraged. For game operators, we suggest all the rules and information for a game should be provided before taking the entry fee from a participant. Ads that feature promises of large prizes, that are actually pro-rated and unlikely to be awarded, are discouraged.

  • Integrity

All FSTA members must be reputable with their customers. If you tell someone you are going to do something you should! For game operators, all rules must be the same for all players, and all rules that are published should be adhered to. Employees, relatives, etc. of game operators should not be allowed to win prizes playing their games. All prizes must be paid by the date published.

  • Credibility

All products and services advertised by FSTA members must be delivered, and by the date promised. All companies should allow the use of credit cards. The use of Post Office Boxes should be discouraged. All statistics should be accurate.

  • Gambling

All games must abide by all laws. No game can be used for any form of gambling. Web sites whose primary function is the operation of gambling operations will not be admitted to membership. All FSTA members should focus on keeping our industry creditable, and we should work with each other.
